I wonder how many others are sitting in front of their fires on this chilly evening in Northern Europe (or further afield, the blogging community is wonderfully global). Finding the fire mesmerising after another session of leaf clearance in the garden with help from my son, who is eager for more pocket money. There’s nothing like getting cold outdoors, watching the night draw in and then warming up in front of a fire in winter.
There’s no better winter heat than a wood fire. 🙂 Btw, I started reading Entangled Life. I read a bit and found it to be too much Sheldrake and not enough fungus. Maybe better deeper in but he lost me. 🙂
That’s a pity re Entangled Life, I suppose he’s trying to be entertaining? He’ll be under our Christmas tree, well I hope to learn something new so let’s compare notes next year.
It was an afternoon cuddling with repeated glasses of whiskey, a miserable abscess on a molar tooth and all episodes of The Undoing!
Winter requires special measures! I hope the whisky neutralised the toothache for a while. 😉

Here no open fire 🙁 However, I love the smell and the sound of burning wood. Yesterday we put our Christmass tree, not in the garden but in the livingroom. Enjoy the new week 🙂
